Understand What’s Working in MSD Initiatives

The MSD Solutions Index is an annual survey launched by the MSD Solutions Lab designed to assess an organization's musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) prevention initiatives. It represents the following focus areas of MSD prevention at the organizational level: 

•    Risk reduction

•    Safety culture

•    Innovation and collaboration

Three years of data have been collected from MSD Pledge members through the MSD Solutions Index, and many notable findings have been uncovered, including: 

•    Utilization of leading indicator tracking is increasing and is correlated with stronger MSD prevention maturity

•    Investment in and use of safety technology for MSD prevention is still relatively low, signaling important areas of opportunity to further mitigate risks

•    Awareness of non-physical MSD risk factors is growing, with nearly all organizations recognizing the impact of factors like stress, colleague support and burnout on MSD likelihood

Reports for all years are now available and conclude with recommendations and steps to help organizations advance their own MSD prevention and mitigation efforts.
