Every year at the NSC Safety Congress & Expo, the Pavilion presents a Safety Innovation Challenge showcasing technologies that address a specific and widespread safety issue. Safety Innovation Challenge attendees:

The Safety Innovation Challenge identifies safety and health concerns, challenging organizations and emerging technology providers to identify solutions. This year’s six finalists were chosen to highlight emerging technologies in the form of wearable sensors, data integration and more at the 2024 NSC Safety Congress & Expo.
Apex Cool Labs
Apex Cool Labs develops thermoregulation solutions to mitigate heat stress, prevent heat illness and improve performance in the toughest and hottest conditions. Our flagship product, the Narwhals®, is a portable cooling device engineered to alleviate heat stress by removing excess body heat through the palms.
Bodytrak
Smart safety solutions that monitor physiological responses to hazardous environments in real-time. Precise data is captured through in-ear devices to prevent workplace incidents related to heat stress, fatigue, MSDs and more. Machine-learning algorithms analyze data against individualized baselines to provide critical alerts so intervention can be enabled and incidents prevented.
Critical Ops
Helps organizations navigate change and maximize value of their data. We guide businesses through new initiatives and large-scale projects, ensuring smooth transitions and measurable results. Cryogenx
Cryogenx Ltd., a London-based MedTech startup founded in 2019, designs and manufactures portable body-cooling technology for treating heat-related illness, particularly heat stroke. CGX1 is a Class 2a medical cooling device for in-the-field treatment of heat illness. FDA clearance is expected in 2025. Cryogenx is ISO 13485 certified.
MakuSafe Wearable Tech
MākuSafe combines wearable sensor technology with powerful data analytics to monitor and mitigate risks in real time. The AllyTM, a compact armband device, captures a range of environmental and physical data, such as motion, heat, air quality, noise levels and ergonomic strain, providing actionable insights to proactively address hazards.
