At the National Safety Council, we recognize that a strong safety culture fosters not only physical protection but also a workplace where every employee feels valued and supported. The NSC Safety Champion recognition honors organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership in workplace safety and health by integrating safety excellence into their business strategies and daily operations.
NSC presents the Safety Champion Recognition to organizations that have embedded innovative safety initiatives into their culture, ensuring a holistic approach to workplace wellbeing. These organizations lead by example, striving to create environments where employees can thrive.
The Safety Champion Recognition honors achievement in three areas: culture, people and program innovations.
Organizations with at least 50 employees are eligible to apply or be nominated. Additional details about the Safety Champion Recognition program, eligibility requirements and criteria will be available during the next nomination period.
In its ongoing commitment to advancing safer, healthier and more equitable workplaces, National Safety Council recognized Safety Champions during the opening session of the 2024 NSC Safety Congress & Expo. These outstanding safety professionals and their organizations are dedicated to fostering safer environments and improving outcomes for everyone.
2024 Safety Champions were awarded in three categories:
Culture: Honors organizations that have excelled in their organizational culture and demonstrated their commitment to advancing psychological safety.
2024 recipient: AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear
People: Recognizes organizations that have effectively implemented comprehensive safety practices and successfully promoted excellence across their safety operations and workforce.
2024 recipient: Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association
Program Innovations: Awards organizations that have successfully used innovation to address workplace safety challenges and enhance both physical and psychological safety in the workplace.
2024 recipient: Central Plateau Cleanup Company
