The 2026 NSC Training Impact Award for Instructor of the Year honors instructors who consistently go beyond their daily responsibilities and demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing lifesaving skills, building a strong culture of safety and positively impacting their communities.
The NSC Training Impact Award is open to active NSC-authorized instructors in the areas of First Aid/CPR, Driver Safety and Workplace Safety Training. Several instructors will be recognized this year.

● DDC 10th Ed 4 hour
● DDC 10th ED 8/6 hour
● International DDC
● Left Side of the Road
● Professional Truck Driver
● State Courts Against Road Rage (SCARR)
● First Aid, CPR & AED
● Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED
● Any courses taught within the Advanced Safety Certificate program
Winning this recognition can validate an organization’s safety program, may lead to more resources for its safety program, and for the instructor, bring a richly deserved validation of their efforts.
The winning safety professionals will be selected by members of various awards committees, including safety consultants and professionals who are leading experts in the field. Winners will be announced this summer and formally recognized in September during a ceremony at the 2026 Safety Congress & Expo in Indianapolis.
Awards are based on the 2025 calendar year. Nominate a colleague or yourself by April 17, 2026.
The nominations period opens Feb. 17 and closes April 18, 2026.
Instructor of the Year Award winners will be notified in the summer and can attend the formal presentation at the 2026 Safety Congress & Expo, which will be held Sept. 11-17 in Indianapolis. Please be advised that all travel, accommodation and incidental expenses are to be covered by the attendee.
Each year, nominations may be submitted for each core course offered by the National Safety Council. The winning safety professionals will be selected by members of various awards committees, including the DDC International Advisory Committee, safety consultants and professionals who are leading experts in the field. Winners will be announced in the summer and awards will be mailed in the fall. Instructor of the Year Awards will be presented at the 2026 Safety Congress & Expo, which will be held Sept. 11-17 in Indianapolis.
Nominations must be processed through the online submission form. We will not accept submissions through any other method.
Nominations for the awards may be made by a National Safety Council division member, board member, officer, training center, member chapter, instructor or interested person with involvement in NSC training programs (Defensive Driving Courses, First Aid, Workplace Training).
The completed nominations must be submitted no later than April 17, 2026.
Individuals may be nominated for more than one award, however separate completed nominations must be provided for each course.
