Safety Training Manager, Chatham County Government

Leigh is an accomplished safety professional with almost three decades of experience in risk management, safety training and program development. She has been teaching National Safety Council programs since 2004, leading initiatives to enhance workplace safety, reduce risk and promote a culture of prevention across diverse employee groups within the Chatham County Government.

Leigh holds both the Associate Safety Professional and Certified Safety Professional credentials from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. She is an OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer as well as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Her work has been recognized nationally, including the prestigious Beverly M. Whitehead Award for her teen driver safety initiatives and the National Safety Council's 2018 Instructor of the Year for Defensive Driving (DDC6). She has served in leadership roles on both the Defensive Driving Courses International Advisory Committee and the National Safety Council's Government and Public Sector Division, contributing her expertise to advancing safety education and advocacy on a national scale.
