Tom Bell joined the Council’s executive team in August 2018. After six years of leading marketing and communications as Chief Marketing Officer, Tom is now responsible for NSC Membership, Conventions, Networks and Publications businesses. His team brings together the Council’s key customer engagement offerings including in-person experiences, constituent and member engagement and content delivery through Safety+Health and Family+Safety and Health magazines along with other customer publications. Engaging business and communications leaders across the organization, he will lead development of a strategic and targeted NSC presence to help drive a more consistent customer experience.

While Chief Marketing Officer, Tom oversaw the growth of the brand through a refreshed brand strategy, helped drive new revenue opportunities for key business priorities, and raised awareness of the Council’s impact and mission related work through strategic marketing campaigns, creative content development, and direct and digital programs. 

Tom brings more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience to his position. He previously worked as SVP of marketing for Wells Fargo, focusing on new client acquisition, key segments and business initiatives, including workplace banking, affluent, small business and community bank marketing programs and strategies.

Tom currently lives in Chicago. A native of Pennsylvania, he earned a degree in political science from Pennsylvania State University. His career has led him to live on both coasts, with time spent in San Diego, San Francisco and Philadelphia. He also spent time in Illinois, where he graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Tom also served as board chair of Mama’s Kitchen, a nonprofit agency in San Diego.
