Susan is a senior human resources executive with extensive experience guiding large-scale transformation in global companies including industrial manufacturing, defense, retail, and technology. She is a trusted advisor in the C-suite and in the board room with a track record of developing diverse executive teams that exceed performance expectations and deliver shareholder value.
Susan retired as the chief people officer at Chemours in October 2023 where she helped the company define significant corporate responsibility commitment goals to reach by 2030. With a leadership portfolio including human resources, environment, health, and safety, Susan guided management and the board to launch the company’s first talent review and succession process, progressive total rewards and incentives, and an environment that ensured top-tier safety of the workforce. Prior to Chemours, Susan led human resources teams at large, publicly traded companies, including Albemarle Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, and The Home Depot. In her adopted hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, Susan is passionate about community development and public health and safety and volunteers with Meals on Wheels, REACH Riverside and Stop Soldier Suicide. Besides her professional and community service work, Susan is a proud Marine Corps spouse who works in support of Marine families.
Susan earned a bachelor of arts in Asian studies and political science from Rice University, in Houston, Texas, and an MBA, with a concentration in international business, from the University of Texas in Austin
