Executive Vice President, Safety Leadership & Advocacy

Mark Chung joined the National Safety Council in 2020 as vice president of roadway practice. He currently holds the role of executive vice president of safety leadership and advocacy and leads the operations of the Council’s advocacy programming portfolio across roadway and workplace safety domains, as well as government affairs and research functions. In December of 2023, he was appointed as a member of USDOT’s Transforming Transportation Advisory Committee (TTAC), serving under Secretary Buttigieg.

In over 20 years in the transportation industry, Chung was the CMO and GM of global business at SAE International; vice president of corporate strategy at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company; global marketing director at Cummins, Inc.; director of corporate strategy at Yokohama Tire Corp; and marketing manager at Ford Motor Company.

He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from Indiana University.
