Region Safety Director, FirstStudent Inc.

Lydell Banks, a native of New Orleans, has been an employee with First Student since August 2006. In his current role as region safety director, Lydell leads the region safety team and is responsible for the safe operation of First Student sites across 10 states in the South Region. He provides safety oversight and supports the safety/security of all operational, facility and workshop activities within the region, ensuring compliance with all company, state and federal regulations.

Lydell is an active member of the National Safety Council and has served as chairman in the Young Professionals and Transportation Safety Division. He is a Certified Safety Professional, credentialed by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
