Brian S. Bailey is director of safety at Tradepoint Atlantic, a 3,300-acre multi-modal logistics hub in Maryland, where he leads occupational safety and health across marine terminals, rail, bulk materials and industrial operations. A 2020 NSC Rising Star of Safety and 2024 Safety Professional of the Year (Signal Mutual), he has spent over a decade building practical, high-impact safety programs in both industry and trade associations, including five years with The American Waterways Operators.
Known for turning regulatory language into real-world action (and the occasional well-timed safety joke), Brian believes the safest way is usually the smartest way to run the business — even if he sometimes jokes that he’s still figuring it out as he goes.
Brian is also vice chair of the NSC Emerging Safety Professionals Division.
