Amy Seymour is the chief port security and emergency operations officer for Port of Houston Authority (aka Port Houston). As chief PSEO officer, she oversees the Port Security and Emergency Operations Division, which includes the fire department, port police department, emergency management department, safety department and security department. Her responsibilities including overseeing safety protocols along the Houston Ship Channel, as well as managing the facility security and emergency response operations of Port Houston terminals.

With 20 years of experience in operational safety across supply chain, transportation and port terminal management, Seymour brings a dynamic, strategic and people-centric approach to achieving outstanding results.

Seymour is passionate about fostering public safety and creating a positive workplace environment. She is driven to inspire those around her. Her dedication to people is evident in her commitment to serving as a catalyst for public safety initiatives.

Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. She also holds both Associate Safety Professional and Certified Safety Professional credentials from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

Outside of work, she shares a fulfilling life with her wife, Kaylee, and enjoys quality time with their diverse family of biological, adopted and foster children. Singing, roller-skating, lacrosse and cooking are among her favorite pastimes.
