Occupational Excellence Achievement Award

Criteria

In accordance with OSHA recordkeeping requirements, a company, location or division must have a lost workday case incident rate* equal to or less than 50% of the BLS rate for their reported 6-digit NAICS code during the previous calendar year, Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.

Eligibility is based on self-reported data submitted by the participant. Any organization recording a fatality will be disqualified.

Qualified applications received prior to May 31 of the current year will automatically be considered for the Industry Leader award. Applications received after that date will be excluded from consideration for Industry Leader.

*Formula: Number of cases with injuries and illnesses that involved days away from work x 200,000/employee hours worked

Award Rules and Receipt

If your application is approved, your award will be shipped within four to six weeks. The National Safety Council reserves the right to change, without notice, any statement in the Occupational Awards Program concerning, but not limited to, rules, policies, awards, delivery dates/methods and fees.
