Each of our eight networks provides HSE leaders from our member companies the unique and unparalleled opportunity to regularly interact with their peers from over 110 companies in 20 business sectors. Network meeting content includes discussions on key regulatory developments and leading HSE programs and practices driven by each Network’s members. 

Networking

• NSC observes the Chatham House Rule. No discussions or other information shared at meetings are disclosed outside the membership. Members will never see a press report on anything said or presented during a meeting.
• The press is not allowed. Meetings have no exhibits.
• Members reduce their learning curve through benchmarking, intensive networking, sharing effective practices with peers, learning from researchers and interacting with HSE and business experts.

Access to Regulatory Agencies, HSE Leaders and Business Experts

• NSC is uniquely positioned to facilitate dialog with key regulators, government officials, and maintains constructive relationships with OSHA, NIOSH, CSB, NTSB, NIH, European-OSHA, Cal/OSHA and Asia Pacific leaders, among others. Networks teams often engage in unified comments on proposed regulations and recommendations for consensus standards.
• NSC addresses critical HSE issues by engaging thought leaders and subject matter experts to present at meetings and to participate in member-driven task forces. Members take away new strategies and tools to improve performance.

NSC annually collects and publishes injury and illness reports where participating companies are able to compare their performance across 20 business sectors. The reports can be customized based on the data parameters, which include but are not limited to:

• Management systems and culture assessment

Member Ad Hoc Special Issue Benchmarking

At any time, members may request benchmarking surveys on issues of special concern within their company.

Special Benchmarking Meetings

NSC holds special benchmarking meetings annually, which are one-day meetings dedicated to sharing effective practices and dialogue on a specific topic. Participation is open to any company willing to share an effective practice from their organization.

Our staff is comprised of a group of professionals at the forefront of the HSE profession with diverse backgrounds in industry, government and labor. All members have access to the entire staff through phone and email support, and one annual on-site visit by request.

We collaboratively and constructively influence international and US national safety and health policy issues. We have a reputation as an honest broker supporting positive solutions for business, workers, and the government.

• NSC submits comments on significant emerging regulations, gaining input from member companies to interact with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.

Member-driven task forces are leveraged to develop comments on emerging regulations and create innovative and practical solutions to the critical problems confronting HSE professionals in today’s workplaces. Current and Previous Task Forces include:

In addition to the network meetings, Networks plan regular webinars covering topics such as new regulations, continuing compliance concerns, and practical initiatives that assist facilities in achieving performance excellence.

• Member companies may send an unlimited number of participants to any webinar, allowing them to leverage their membership throughout their organization.
• Upon member company request, Networks can customize webinars to meet individual company needs.
• CEUs are offered for participation in all webinars.
• The Country Profiles Library is available to members companies of the networks with an international reach, including Global HSE Forum, European EHS Forum, and Asia Pacific HSE Forum.

Members have access to our member website as a key resource for HSE information. Within this site, members also have access to annual injury and illness data collection, and performance, organization and special topic data.

Continuing education and certification maintenance points are offered for attendance at all network meetings and webinars offered by NSC Networks.

Networks Country Profiles Library provides an overview of HSE regulatory requirements and audit checklists for 70+ countries and provinces. Profiles contain descriptions of key HSE laws and regulations, information on the legislative and regulatory process of each country or province, identification of local HSE governmental agencies and contacts, and links to government and other relevant HSE organizations websites.
